The Sapheos project seeks to push the boundaries of collation, analysis and representation of text and images through the development of innovative opensource software. Sapheos will contribute to work in the humanities by creating an innovative interface through which users can compare and collate large sets of images that may vary in terms of quality and size. The project will collate a set of images by stacking them one upon the other so that any resultant variations between the texts will manifest as blurs in the images. The second phase of the project will integrate manuscripts and text images with their counterpart xml-data sets to allow users to seamlessly and simultaneously negotiate both modes of interacting with a given text.
